Objectives: Music; Composition and Singing alone and as an ensemble member. Science; research and data collection using
the scientific method as a framework.
Language Arts; composition, grammar & vocabulary development,
writing skill development.
Process:
In small groups
students will explore composing simple four phrase songs using the ABAC format
as a guide. The songs will allow
students to present research data they have collected regarding their
insect/anthropoid/arachnid. Students
will perform their group songs for each other in class, then reflect as a
class. Additionally students will work
on developing their writing and language arts skills by recording their data by
hand. Additionally students will create
an assessment tool for their viewers (classmates) in the form of a
questionnaire, to be filled out after viewing each group’s presentations.
